Review by joe cummings.Baan rim nam: a cute, idiosyncratic, converted fishing family's residence, built on stilts over the klong at the end of a walkway through the mangroves. Run by a british-thai couple, it has just three snug, stylishly-furnished air-con rooms with good bathrooms, plus a deck locality for lounging but no restaurant. You can borrow kayaks and it's a couple of minutes walk to the beach and barracuda restaurant. The rooms are spacious and shining and acquire been decorated with neutral colours and bamboo furniture. There is one twofold bed in each room. Each bathroom has a shower, sink and western style toilet. Bath towels and toiletries are provided. There is 24 hour electricity and water supply. As baan rim nam is only a petite place we don't acquire a restaurant. However, there are affordable places to eat on the beach nearby and three restaurants on the river - they'll send a boat to pick you up at nightbecause we are located in klong prao in the centre of the west coast of the island, acquiring around is relatively easy. Motorbikes can be hired nearby and there is a regular shared taxi service operating on the main road approx 15 minutes walk away. We are located away from the crowds - there are no bars or huts within earshot, only local families who earn a living fishing or running boat services. However, there are a couple of good beach bars a few minutes walk away which are great places for grabbing a cold beer whilst watching the sun go down. We acquire free sea canoes and canadian canoe for guests to use.We also offer free wifi access in the rooms and on the deck by the river, if you acquire your own laptop.
