Thailand is a kingdom in southeast Asia having borders with Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia and the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. Thailand is about the size of Spain with a population of some 63 million.
The north of the country is mountainous, with the Khorat Plateau in the northeast. The centre of Thailand is flat river valley and the south a narrow isthmus that widens into the Malay Peninsula. The climate is a tropical climate with warm monsoon rains from May to September and cool northeast monsoon rains from November to March. The southern isthmus is hot and humid.
